FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What is the capacity of the Ratio Six?
It brews up to 40 ounces (1.25 liters) at a time—great for serving multiple people or enjoying several cups throughout the morning.
- What materials are used in the brew path?
The tank is Tritan, and once brewing begins, water only comes into contact with stainless steel, borosilicate glass, aluminum, and FDA-approved silicone. The coffee brews in a BPA-free polymer-lined filter basket before flowing into the stainless steel interior of the thermal carafe.
- Can the Ratio Six brew with the new Eight Series 2 accessories?
Yes. Pairing the Six with the Eight Series 2 stainless dripper and thermal carafe creates a completely plastic-free hot water brew path. The Ratio Brew Pad helps align everything perfectly on the base.
- What filters work with the Six?
The Six has a flat-bottom basket compatible with 8-12 cup flat-bottom paper filters or the Able Basket reusable filter.
- Does it have a hot plate that keeps coffee hot after brewing?
Ratio machines don’t use a hot plate. Hot plates tend to overheat coffee, causing bitterness and a burnt flavor over time. Instead, our brewers have the option to be paired with a double-wall stainless steel thermal carafe that keeps coffee hot long enough to enjoy a full pot without altering the taste. If you prefer a glass carafe, we recommend serving right away or transferring your brew to an insulated vessel for the best flavor and temperature.
